Channel guide: #careers-and-jobs
Navigating CX career moves with our Slack channel
Navigating your career path, whether you're searching for your next leadership role, hiring top CX talent, or seeking advice on salary negotiations, is one of the most impactful parts of your professional journey. The #careers-and-jobs channel is a dedicated space to discuss career trajectories and connect with legitimate CX opportunities in a transparent, candidate-friendly environment.
What #careers-and-jobs is for
This channel serves as the central career hub for the Mentors CX community. Use it for:
- Sharing CX job openings: Posting open roles on your team or sharing legitimate job opportunities across Customer Support, Success, CX Strategy, and Operations.
- Career guidance & discussions: Asking for advice on interview preparation, resume framing, title progression, career pivots, or navigating promotions.
- Hiring & compensation insights: Discussing hiring frameworks, interview process design, market compensation benchmarks, and talent retention strategies.
- Celebrating career wins: Sharing milestone news when you land a new role, get promoted, or make a career breakthrough!
How to post job opportunities effectively
To ensure job listings are transparent and actionable for job seekers, please include the following details whenever you post an open role:
- Role title & company: Clearly state the position and organization.
- Location & work type: Specify if the role is remote (and regional restrictions, if any), hybrid, or on-site.
- Application link: Provide a direct link to the official job posting or application portal.
- Your relationship to the opportunity: Let members know if you are the hiring manager, a team peer, an internal recruiter, or simply sharing a great opening you came across.
Applicable community guidelines for #careers-and-jobs
To maintain a trustworthy, anti-predatory career space, please adhere strictly to these guidelines:
1. Standards for sharing opportunities
- Legitimate roles only: Only post legitimate, verifiable CX opportunities.
- No exploitative or pay-to-apply listings: Fraudulent, misleading, multi-level marketing (MLM), pay-to-apply, or intentionally incomplete job listings are strictly prohibited.
- No predatory recruiting: External recruiters are welcome to participate as active community members. However, joining Mentors CX primarily to scrape member profiles, harvest resumes, or cold-message members with unsolicited recruitment pitches is not permitted.
2. Value relationships over direct prospecting (No cold DMs)
- Respect member attention: A member posting in #careers-and-jobs or expressing interest in a role is not an invitation to mass-DM them or send aggressive sales pitches. Keep initial conversations in the public post thread before moving to private messages.
3. Protect sensitive personal & company data
- Anonymize sensitive scenarios: When asking for advice on workplace conflicts, exit strategies, or offer negotiations, ensure you do not disclose confidential company data, unannounced organizational restructures, or information protected under an NDA.
- Respect privacy ("What happens here stays here"): Career discussions often involve personal details. Never screenshot, copy, or quote a member's career questions, employment status, or job inquiry outside of Mentors CX without their explicit permission.
4. Respect our mentors' voluntary time
- Use public threads for career questions: Mentors are eager to share career perspectives in channel threads. Please do not send private DMs to mentors expecting free resume rewrites, private interview prep, or ongoing career coaching. For dedicated, structured 1:1 guidance, book a session through the Mentors CX platform.
