Community Guidelines

Mentors CX exists to create a trusted space where Customer Experience professionals can learn from each other, exchange ideas, grow their careers, ask for help, and build genuine relationships with people who care about CX.

We want this community to be useful, welcoming, candid, and fun. By participating in the Mentors CX community, you agree to the following guidelines.

1. Keep it human and mindful

  • Treat other members with respect, even when you disagree.
  • Healthy debate is welcome. Personal attacks, harassment, bullying, discrimination, hate speech, intimidation, or deliberately hostile behavior are not.
  • Assume good intent, challenge ideas rather than people, and remember that there is a human being on the other side of the screen.

2. Privacy and consent first

Mentors CX is a member-only space.

What happens here stays here:

Do not screenshot, copy, quote, republish, or share another member's messages outside the community without their permission.

Members should feel comfortable asking questions, sharing experiences, and discussing real challenges without worrying that their conversations will appear somewhere else.

This isn't about gatekeeping knowledge. We believe strongly in sharing what we know, and Mentors CX creates resources, articles, conversations, and educational content that we make available beyond the community.

If someone else contributed to a conversation, ask before sharing their words, screenshots, stories, or identifiable experiences outside the community. You are always free to share your own ideas and learnings, but please respect the people who helped shape the conversation.

At the same time, use good judgment about what you share. While we expect members to respect these guidelines, Mentors CX cannot guarantee that another member will always do so.

3. Protect sensitive data

Do not share information you are not authorized to disclose.

This includes confidential company information, customer data, personal information, credentials, internal documents, proprietary data, or information covered by an NDA.

When discussing real situations, anonymize companies, customers, employees, screenshots, and data when appropriate.

Mentors CX Community Vault:

Mentors CX periodically recognizes exceptional community discussions as Golden Threads.

Selected conversations may be summarized and preserved in the members-only Mentors CX Community Vault so valuable knowledge is not lost when Slack history expires.

Mentors CX may summarize or anonymize the ideas discussed. We will ask for permission before publicly attributing or directly quoting an identifiable member outside of Slack.

Members may request that their contribution be anonymized or excluded from a Community Vault entry.

4. Value relationships over direct sales

No unsolicited prospecting:

We love when members build things.

If you're working on a CX product, tool, company, event, article, podcast, course, template, project, or something else you're proud of, you're welcome to share it in #show-your-work.

What we don't want is for Mentors CX to become a lead-generation database.

Unsolicited sales messages, mass DMs, scraping member information, aggressive recruiting, spam, or repeatedly contacting members who have not expressed interest are not allowed.

A member participating in a conversation is not permission to pitch them privately.

Build relationships before opportunities.

From time to time, Mentors CX may also work with selected partners who support the community or want to share something relevant with our members. Any partner promotions will be managed by Mentors CX and should be intentional, relevant, and clearly identified, not spam.

We want people to discover great tools, companies, products, and ideas here. We just want that discovery to happen in a way that respects everyone's attention.

Keep self-promotion in #show-your-work:

We want members to share what they are building and creating.

Articles, products, podcasts, events, research, templates, projects, courses, and other work are welcome in #show-your-work.

Please avoid promotional posts in unrelated channels unless they are directly relevant to an active conversation.

Contribute more than you promote.

Share opportunities in #careers-and-jobs:

Members are welcome to share legitimate CX-related jobs and professional opportunities.

Whenever possible, include the company, role, location or remote expectations, application link, and your relationship to the opportunity.

Fraudulent, misleading, pay-to-apply, exploitative, or intentionally incomplete job listings are not permitted.

Recruiters may participate in the community, but joining primarily to source or cold-message members is not allowed.

5. Honor give-and-take

Respect our mentors:

Mentors are members of the community too.

Their participation in Slack is voluntary, and being part of Mentors CX does not create an obligation for a mentor to provide free consulting, coaching, or private advice through Slack.

You're absolutely encouraged to interact with mentors, ask questions, exchange ideas, and get to know them as fellow community members.

Just be respectful of their time. Please don't repeatedly DM mentors requesting private help or turn casual Slack conversations into ongoing unpaid consulting.

For more structured support, you can Ask the Community or book a 1:1 mentoring session through Mentors CX.

Share responsibly:

Only share materials you have the right to share.

Do not distribute pirated content, paid resources you do not own, confidential company materials, copyrighted courses, or proprietary information without permission.

When sharing someone else's work, credit the original creator whenever possible.

6. Keep our community safe

Need help? If a message or a member makes you uncomfortable, reach out privately to the Mentors CX Community Team. You never have to handle conflict alone.

Enforcement: To protect community trust, Mentors CX reserves the right to remove content, issue warnings, suspend access, or remove members when these guidelines are violated or when behavior puts the safety, trust, or usefulness of the community at risk.

Serious violations may result in immediate removal.

Membership or payment consequences associated with removal are governed by the applicable Mentors CX Membership Terms.

The simple version

Be kind. Be useful. Protect people's privacy. Don't spam. Don't treat members as leads. Share what you know. Ask for help when you need it. Help someone else when you can.

We're here to make each other better at CX, and hopefully have a good time doing it.

A little reminder 💛

This isn't a rule. Just something we believe is worth remembering.

Be kind, to other people and to yourself.

Careers matter, but so does everything happening outside of work.

Move your body.

Get enough sleep.

Eat in a way that takes care of you.

Protect your mindset.

Make time for the people you love.

Learn new things. Help other people grow. Ask for help when you need it. Celebrate wins, yours and other people's.

Great CX starts with humans. So let's remember to take care of the human too.
