Channel guide: #show-your-work
The right space to share what you’re building
We love when members build things. Whether you’ve written an in-depth article, published a research report, created an open-source CX template, launched a tool, or started a new podcast, the #show-your-work channel is your dedicated space to share your projects.
What #show-your-work is for
Unlike general discussion channels where promotional posts are restricted, #show-your-work is designed specifically for thoughtful self-promotion and sharing valuable resources you’ve created. You can share:
- Content & media: Articles, newsletters, podcasts, video teardowns, or blog posts.
- Practical CX tools & templates: Spreadsheets, onboarding frameworks, dashboard templates, customer journey maps, or workflow scripts.
- Products & projects: Beta tools, software, AI agents, or new CX platforms you're building.
- Events & learning: Webinars, workshops, courses, or industry meetups you're hosting.
How to share your work effectively
Posts in this channel get the most engagement and constructive feedback when they lead with value rather than pure marketing copy. Here’s how to make your post stand out:
- Provide context first: Briefly explain why you created something, what problem it solves, and who it’s meant for.
- Ask for specific feedback: If you’re looking for input, tell the community what you’d like them to test or evaluate (e.g., "Would love feedback on our onboarding flow" or "Let me know if this SLA calculator covers your team's use cases!").
- Keep it concise: Share a summary of the key takeaways directly in the post alongside the link so members get immediate value.
- Engage with replies: Reply in the thread to thank members who offer feedback, ask questions, or share your work.
Applicable community guidelines for #show-your-work
To ensure this space remains inspiring and high-quality, please follow these core rules when posting:
1. Keep self-promotion in this channel
- No promotional posting in other channels: Please avoid dropping promotional posts, event links, or product launches in any other channel.
2. Contribute more than you promote
- Be an active community member: Mentors CX is built on mutual support, not lead generation. We encourage members to contribute to discussions, answer questions, and support others rather than using Slack solely as a distribution channel for links.
3. No unsolicited sales, mass DMs, or prospecting
- Sharing work is not a lead magnet: Posting a project in #show-your-work or having members comment on your post does not grant permission to scrape user data, send mass DMs, or drop cold sales pitches into members' private inboxes.
- Build authentic connections first: Do so in public threads before taking conversations private.
4. Share responsibly & credit sources
- Only share what you own: Only distribute content, tools, frameworks, or resources you created or have explicit authorization to share. Do not share anything else without explicit permission.
